Like "the Sex Pistols playing Erik Satie", or "The Mars Volta doing The Hives". - Although they themselves would describe their sound simply as ‘rock’, the oblique song structures, angular rhythms and contorted lyrics made others come up with remarkable comparisons like above, due to describe their sound and approach.

An experimental band barely out of their teens, The Scenes out of Oulu, Northern Finland, are something between art pop, hardcore punk and progressive rock.

Being together since 2009 it took them until 2013 that their debut album "Images Of Animals Crying In Public" appeared, yet only in Finland, followed by many concerts throughout their homecountry. Rather by accident a booker from a big UK concert agency saw one of their gigs. He was so impressed by their distressing and exhuberant stage present that he signed them immediately to the roster of X-Ray Touring . Soon after, in 2014 they took off for touring the UK extensively.

That year they did two tours, earning them a reputation for their lights-out mayhem live performances. They've played festival slots at The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Live At Leeds and Dot to Dot festival, as well as supporting BO NINGEN on their club tour. Moreover, inbetween the spring and fall dates in the UK they managed to finish their sophomore album "Beige". On their second tour they were even playing in front of big crowds, like at London's Roundhouse, when they were invited unexpectedly to open for THE SPECIALS Reunion tour, making this a quite special bill.

Now, in 2015, along with their very first concerts in Germany "Beige" will see its release through SoF/BB*ISLAND March 13. 2015 (for GSA). Due to get the whole and colourful picture SoF/BB*ISLAND also releases the debut album in GSA at the same date.

Possessing a seemingly peculiar collective character the sextet coalesce around vocalist Konsta Koivisto, whom The LINE OF BEST FIT hailed as ‘a potential superstar’. Koivisto also works as a painter / sculptor, so his overt creative idiosyncrasies naturally command a central role to the bands’ identity.

Guitarist Miki Liukkonen is another centerpoint as the main songwriter. Another individual cultured far beyond his young years, he is a well known, award-winning and critically acclaimed author and poet in his native Finland.

Characterised by such individuals, The Scenes exhibit a fascinating personality; an identity which has divisive potential, particularly via their brazen socially observant lyrics.
